The Brief

Established in 2010, The Funky Peach is a personalised clothing company with an outstanding reputation in design, quality and customer service. The Funky Peach has always tried to separate itself from the usual embroidery and printing companies. As you can tell by the name they are a little bit different!

Their current site was built by DSM a few years ago and the client was keen to see what we could do to now improve the whole experience for the customer and make the order and purchasing experience more intuitive and user friendly. At the same time they created a new brand and moved to bigger premises to cater for increased business. Ideal time for DSM to make a difference.

The Situation

The Funky Peach pride themselves in offering the best service that they possibly can to their customers and this is obvious with their continued growth and forms the positive feedback they receive daily. Despite the “funny” name Funky Peach are extremely passionate about high standards in both the staff they work with and most importantly their finished product. Their professionalism and customer service is second to none.

This case study gives a hint of what is coming in the Summer of 2022.

About the Project

The business owner approached us to design and develop a new website for them. The current site was using our early e-commerce system and as such the re-design required a full re-development using Admin UI. The website data comes from two external suppliers along with The Funky Peach owned data. This was all imported using high quality scripting and coding. This culminated in the site having some 4,000+ items with 102,000+ options. Checkout customisation was required to allow visitors to personalise their products with both artwork and text. The e-commerce system also needed to include a pricing matrix based on The Funky Peach parameters.

What We Did

The website was built on our Admin UI framework which allows us to develop and design from the ground up using standard web technology.
We communicated and co-ordinated with the two external suppliers to obtain the data complete with images in a format that could be imported into out framework database structure.

Some 40 hours development time was spent on just the checkout alone which gives some indication as to how technical this site actually is.
During the whole design and development process communication with the client was of paramount importance. As such weekly conference calls were had to push the development through.

The End Result

The design and development culminated in a fresh look and feel to the new website and has also in areas put the client ahead of their competition offering checkout options that have not been available within the local industry before now.

Mobiles and Pads are very important today, not least for this client so a lot of time has been spent to optimise the styles on smaller devices to make sure the website looks good.
